Why it’s right

Duty. Honor. Integrity. Accountability. These are not lines on a campaign sign.

Duty means showing up when it costs you something. Honor means telling the truth when the truth is harder. Integrity means the good of the people is not on the negotiating table, not for a party, and not for a donor. Accountability means every vote gets explained, on the record, within a week of being cast.

None of this is partisan. We used to expect it from the people we sent to represent us. We are allowed to expect it again.

This is what Skylar is running on. The rest is on the about page.

Skylar’s story

Why it’s responsible

An ambulance that shows up when it is needed. A lake that does not turn green every summer. A school that stays open, and a hospital that does not shutter. These are not luxuries. They are what a community is made of, and they are what gives a local economy anything to stand on.

In 2024, in every one of the six counties this district spans, one 911 call in ten waited twenty minutes or more for an ambulance, and five of the six got slower than the year before. Sixteen Minnesota rural hospitals are at risk of closing, three of them at immediate risk. About forty percent of Minnesota’s assessed waters are impaired for one or more pollutants.

None of that gets solved by partisan theater. It gets solved by a legislature willing to do the boring work of keeping the things that hold communities together from falling apart. That is not charity. That is stewardship. It is also what grown-up governing looks like.

The issues

Every month, on the record. Every quarter, in the room.

A video update each month on the votes cast, the reasoning behind them, and the legislative work that affects this district. A town hall every quarter where the hard questions get answered out loud. A public record anyone in the district can check, any time they want.

Representation should not require a Freedom of Information request. You should be able to see what your senator is doing, and ask about it, without going through a press office.

This race runs on people.

This race does not run on PACs or consultants. It runs on neighbors who think the state is worth the work, and who are willing to put an hour a week toward proving it.
